IPM Mathemagic – Institute for Promotion of Mathematics

IPM Mathemagic is joint venture between Institute for Promotion of Mathematics and Sigma innovations. Every year, Institute for Promotion of Mathematics (IPM) conducts Mathematics Scholarship Examination which is a competitive examination for various standard where mathematics skill, mental ability, calculation speed, critical analysis and accuracy of child and application of shortcut method are tested.

About Institute for Promotion of Mathematics

Institute for Promotion of Mathematics is a unique institute established in 1996 for school going children.
Institute was founded after the realization that the present education system does not offers the student enough opportunity to tackle mathematical problems outside the school examination curriculum. Hence, the Mathematics Scholarship Examination syllabus covers provoking and challenging topics, thus exposing some interesting aspects of mathematics.

IPM Objectives

• To make the solving of mathematical problems a joyful activity and in general to sharpen a child’s mathematical skills.
• To test not the mechanical part of problem solving, but a child’s ability to understand the basic concept on various topics and their application.
• To emphasize mental arithmetic which is essential for quick and clear thinking.
• To encourage and prepare young student to appear for various Mathematics Competitive Examination and to inculcate in them an ambition to succeed in such competitive examination from an early age.
• To honor and inspire the Meritorious student by awarding Scholarships, Prizes, Mementos & Certificate.

IPM Scholarships and Prizes

Institute for Promotion of Mathematics conduct the All India Open Mathematics Scholarship Examination for std. 1st to 9th and awards Scholarship, Trophies/Mementos to the top 200/250 student of each standard to honor and inspire them.

1. The top 250 students of Standard III to VI and 200 students of Standard VII to IX will be awarded one time cash scholarship as given above in the chart.
2. Trophies/Mementos will be awarded to the first 5 Rank Holders of each class.
3. Certificate of Merit will be awarded to the First 200/250 rank holders (as per the Merit-List) of each Class.
4. Certificate of Distinction will be awarded to all students Qualifying for Mega-Final Exam but not to Merit Holder.
5. Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to all students Appeared for final Exam.
6. Certificate of Participation will be awarded to all students present for the final exam.
7. Best School Award for top Two Schools Cash Prizes of Rs 5000/- and Rs 2500/- will be Awarded to the top two School with maximum number of students in the Merit List for each class (i.e. III to IX). In case of a tie, it would be resolved by considering the total prize money won by the students of the particular school.
